The ABCR Activity Index was created in 2002 through a partnership between the ABCR and Tendências. The indicator measures the flow of vehicles on toll roads under private concession and has become an important indicator of the performance of the Brazilian economy, as its performance is closely related to the activity of industry sectors. The importance of the ABCR Index was increased with its incorporation into the calculation of GDP in 2012 by IBGE.
